Frequently asked

FAQs.

Everything we get asked before someone applies. Eligibility, the credential, the apparatus, the investment, the career — answered honestly, in full.

The certification

Is the Sloane Lagree Level 1 Certification recognised across Europe and globally?
Yes. When you train at Sloane, you earn an official Level 1 Certification issued by Lagree Fitness HQ. This credential is your "passport" — recognised by over 2,000 licensed studios across the UK, France, Germany, Spain, Italy, the Nordics, the USA, the Middle East, and Asia. Train in London. Teach anywhere.
Are there recurring fees to keep my Lagree certification active?
No. Your official Lagree Level 1 Certification does not expire and carries no annual renewal fee. Once you pass your practical assessment at Sloane, your credential is permanent. We do offer advanced workshops to help you evolve as the method advances.
What is the difference between Lagree and Pilates certification?
While both use a carriage and springs, a Lagree Fitness certification focuses on High-Intensity, Low-Impact Training (HILIT). Unlike traditional Pilates teacher training, which prioritises flexibility and core alignment, the Lagree Method targets muscular failure through slow-burn movements. This certification qualifies you to teach a strength-based discipline that is currently one of the highest-demanded workouts in European boutique fitness.
What if I don't pass the practical assessment?
In the rare case a trainee is not ready to certify on Day 4, we offer a complimentary re-assessment slot within 90 days, plus additional 1:1 coaching from a Master Trainer at no extra cost. We do not certify trainees who aren't ready — but we don't leave anyone stranded either.

The investment

What does Sloane Lagree teacher training cost?
£2,200 for the full 4-day Level 1 intensive. A £800 deposit secures your seat on acceptance, with the balance settled before training begins. See full dates and tuition →
How does the payment plan work?
£800 deposit secures your seat on acceptance. The balance is settled in full before training begins. Speak with our team if you'd like to discuss alternative arrangements.
How long does the certification take?
The Sloane training is a 4-day intensive immersion (~24 hours of in-studio practical training) plus pre-reading and 10 practitioner classes beforehand. You can realistically go from interested to certified instructor in under a month.
Where is the training held?
All training is held at Sloane, 38 Copperfield Street, London SE1 0EA — 5 minutes from Southwark or Borough Underground, 10 minutes from London Bridge mainline. Entrance is via the Tradestars building on the ground floor.
Do you help with accommodation for European trainees travelling in?
We don't book accommodation but we maintain a recommended list of nearby hotels and short-stays in Borough, Bermondsey, and Bankside, with rates that have worked for previous trainees. The list is shared on acceptance.

Eligibility & prerequisites

Do I need to be a certified Pilates or fitness instructor first?
No. You do not need a prior Pilates qualification or sports science degree to enrol. We welcome applicants from all movement backgrounds, including Yoga, Personal Training, and Dance. However, we do require a foundational understanding of the slow-burn method and suggest completing at least 10 Lagree classes before training begins.
Is there an age or fitness level requirement?
We look for passion and precision rather than a specific "look" or age. The training is physically demanding — you will spend significant time on the carriage learning the Sloane Shake firsthand. We recommend all trainees are in good physical health and ready to embrace the intensity of the method.
What if I'm not based in London?
We have trainees travelling in for the four days from across the UK and Europe — Paris, Berlin, Madrid, Amsterdam, Milan, Copenhagen, Zurich, and beyond. The training itself happens at Sloane; you can complete your 10 prerequisite Lagree classes at any licensed Lagree studio worldwide.
Do you accept international applicants?
Yes. All training is delivered in English. European applicants travel in for the four days and return home certified. International applicants are responsible for their own visa, travel, and accommodation arrangements.

The method & the apparatus

What is the Lagree Micro Pro, and will I learn to teach on it?
The Lagree Micro Pro is the most advanced, technically demanding apparatus in the Lagree family. As Europe's first Micro Pro–dedicated sanctuary, Sloane provides exclusive hands-on training on this specific machine. Mastering the Micro Pro gives you sharper alignment, more precise programming, and full transfer to every other Lagree machine in the world.
Can I teach on a Megaformer if I certify on a Micro Pro?
Yes — and this is the right way round. The Micro Pro is the more demanding apparatus. Once you master it, every other Lagree machine — Megaformer, Megapro, Evo — feels familiar. The Lagree principles are universal, the certification is universal, and the apparatus transfer is seamless.
What is HILIT?
High-Intensity, Low-Impact Training — the category Lagree invented. The intensity comes from sustained muscle engagement under load. The low-impact comes from eliminating jumping, jarring, ballistic movement, and sudden direction change. You get the response of high-intensity training without the body cost.
What are the 8 Lagree Principles?
Effective angle, tempo, tension, duration, range, resistance, form, and transitions. They are the framework every certified Lagree instructor learns to apply. We teach them in depth on Day 1. Read more about the method →

After certification

What do Lagree instructors typically earn?
Class rates in London sit around £32–£50 per 45-minute class for newly qualified instructors, with comparable bands across other European capitals. Senior instructors at premium studios earn more, and private 1-on-1 sessions on the Micro Pro typically run £80–£150 per hour. Earnings depend on schedule, studio, and client retention.
Will Sloane help me find teaching work after I qualify?
Yes. We hire from our own cohorts when teaching slots open at Sloane — graduates get first refusal. We also actively introduce graduates to studios across European capitals hiring Lagree instructors. We can't guarantee employment, but graduates report finding teaching work within an average of 6 weeks of certification.
Can I teach at Sloane after I qualify?
Possibly. We hire from our own cohorts when slots open, and Sloane-trained instructors are at the front of the queue. We can't guarantee a teaching slot, but we hire from our own programme first.
What support is available after I complete the certification?
A lot. Graduates receive continuous training with us — ongoing workshops, advanced cueing labs, and post-certification mock classes to keep sharpening your craft. Every graduate also gets 1 month of unlimited Sloane classes after certifying, so you stay on the apparatus and in the room. Plus lifetime access to the Lagree Academy online portal, and direct introductions to hiring studios across European cities.
